Alberto Castañeda was born in Los Angeles, CA. He lived in Mexico for 4 years where he completed middle school. When he returned to the US he attended Belmont High School. After attending various community colleges he transferred to UCLA where he double majored in American Literature and Spanish Literature and Culture. He then returned to UCLA to earn a Master's degree in Education. He is a proud father of 3 lovely and energetic children. Music is one of his biggest passions, especially Hip Hop, reggae, jazz and blues. As a child he discovered a passion for words and writing after listening to Public Enemy in 1989. He grew up 3 blocks away from Global Studies. In his spare time he likes to practice on his turntables, tend to his small garden, and play soccer with his children. At the present moment he is studying mindfulness and meditation.
